This shirt. Sam turned two last week and we celebrated with two parties—one of which was dinosaur themed. I picked this shirt for his dino party, and it was adorable. Thanks to my sister and brother-in-law, Sam also had a special dinosaur hat and dinosaur nose mask, among other goodies. And my step-mom got him a 5-foot tall T-Rex balloon. You know, just the dinosaur necessities.
This article about refugees in Clarkston, GA. Loved reading this fascinating article about how “Clarkston, a small town in Georgia, has received over 40,000 refugees over the past 25 years.” The author—and those interviewed—don’t pretend that Clarkston is without its problems—but there is something beautiful about this story about how many of Clarkston’s residents have welcomed refugees, and how refugees who have settled there have shown generosity and compassion in turn. This article about enemies-turned-lovers books. Reading this made me wonder if my love for enemies-turned-lovers stories started with L. M. Montgomery’s Anne of Green Gables. I have read and re-read those books so many times, and they still hold up. Gilbert. Siiiiiiiigh. And Anne with an E made me (read: still makes me) want to have red hair and live on Prince Edward Island. But I digress. This article does talk about Anne of Green Gables, but there are also many more recommendations if you have a hankering for a sizzling first-we-argue-and-then-we-make-out love story. This show. Dan and I are on season 3 of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, and I think this is my favorite season thus far. I love that the show is absurd, but there’s undeniable heart beneath the characters’ capers. This article featuring the all-too-important tote. For some of us, it’s beach season. But beach-going or not, you, too, can enjoy one of the book-themed tote bags featured in this article.
