From "DNA confirms Viking remains belonged to a female military leader."
Tennessee recommendations from "100 Books Across America."
A couple of years ago--after years of insisting that I would be a Gryffindor--I accepted that I would most likely be a Ravenclaw. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, take this as further proof that you need. to. read. the. books. *Pic from BoxLunch.
Demonte sneakers from the StrideRite Surprize brand.
These earrings. I love tassel earrings. I’m not quite sure how they’ll hold up to an aggressive toddler grip, but I’m willing to risk it for these beauties. BaubleBar and other sites have them, but these Etsy earrings are gorgeous, super reasonably priced, and your purchase would support an independent shop owner. Win. Win. Win.
This article about female Viking remains. Researchers have recently determined that the Viking warrior’s remains in question are actually female, and that previous researchers made a mistake in just assuming that the warrior’s remains had to be male. This has to be the first time that gender expectations and biases led to a faulty conclusion. Right?! Right. This list of the best books according to state. Wow, this list is a doozy. Have you ever wondered what the best books are that take Kentucky as its locale? You might be surprised. Read this list and then add these reads to your TBR stack.
This Harry Potter collection from Box Lunch. I still remember the first time that I read Harry Potter. My brother was not much of a reader at the time, but I saw him reading J. K. Rowling’s works, and it inspired me to give them a go. If you haven’t read Harry Potter, please. go. read. them. I’m not telling you. I’m begging. They will change your life. And after you’ve read them, buy some Harry Potter merchandise like the stuff pictured and share your love of H.P. and J. K. and wizardry with the world.
This shoe brand. Lots of parents advised me to buy Stride Rite shoes when Sam first started walking, and because I trusted their advice—and also received a free pair from my stepmom—that’s what I did. I haven’t been disappointed yet. Then said stepmom informed me that Stride Rite shoes had a line at Target called Surprize, and I was happy that I would no longer have to hear my husband complain about how Sam’s shoes cost more than his, ever again. These shoes are still around $30 per pair, but that’s considerably cheaper than what I was paying at the actual Stride Rite store (and Target runs sales often. Plus, Target!). And more important, my little guy seems to like them and they help him cause destruction from point A to point B.
Honorable Mentions: feeling my baby move all day long (this would actually be one of my very favorite things, but I decided not to include it on the list); giant Costco muffins for breakfast (and an occasional nibble throughout the day); and my LuLaRoe shop (I'm having so much fun!).
